About the Artist
Hi I'm Kim!
I am an Ocean Shores artist with a love of colour, beauty, following your intuition and taking lots of naps. I paint bold abstract landscapes and joyful colorful still life paintings.
My process is deeply intuitive, embracing spontaneity and trust to create expressive, energetic works.
I’ve been painting full time since 2023 after I had a life changing trip to Kakadu where I realized I was ready to put aside my fears and doubts and pursue being an artist. And you’ll often see Kakadu popping up in my work!
Before this I had a lovely product business called Wheatbags Love where I got to create and design new fabrics each year for our range of wellbeing products.
Nowadays you’ll find me painting away in my studio just north of Byron Bay, entertaining and being entertained by my fluffy Havanese dog and spending lots of time at the beach and the river.
I’m a self-development junkie (I also have a podcast called Slow Down & Thrive) and I love exploring the way the mind and intuition can work together and that’s how I paint too. I’m constantly trying to release the inner critic and paint from a pure, authentic place and only use my mind right at the end to make sure the painting is balanced and works aesthetically. It’s an ever ongoing exploration!
